Paul Coker Jr.'s distinctively styled drawings have been appearing in greeting cards and magazines since the mid-1950s. His first published cartoon appeared in the cartoon contest feature 'Open Road for Boys' when Coker was about twelve. He drew editorial cartoons for the New York Enquirer in 1957, and he produced two comic strips: 'Lancelot' and 'Horace and Buggy' with Duck Edwing. Coker began contributing to Mad in 1962 and has appeared regularly in its lunatic pages ever since.
