Formed in 2000 in Merrick, New York, Brand New is an alternative rock band consisting of Jesse Lacey, Garrett Tierney, Brian Lane, and Vincent Accardi. After signing with Triple Crown Records, the band released their first album,
Your Favorite Weapon. It was only moderately successful, but it gave the band exposure to other bands, landing them the opportunity to tour both in the US and abroad. Brand New's second album,
Deja Entendu, was released in 2003 to critical and fan acclaim. 2005 brought the band's most anticipated album,
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, and its first single, "Jesus Christ", debuted well on the Billboard charts.
