||played Khadijah James in Living Single
Khadijah James grew up in East Orange, New Jersey, where she was raised by her single mother, Rita, following her parents' divorce when Khadijah was five. Her estranged father, Ed, went on to have other children (including a track-star daughter, Stephanie) with whom Khadijah rarely spent time. She was a basketball star in high school, earning a berth in the city all-star game and winning the MVP award after scoring the winning basket. Khadijah graduated from Howard University and went on to serve an internship at Essence Magazine. She later moved to Brooklyn and started her own magazine, Flavor, which serves the young urban community. Although the magazine constantly faces financial problems, Khadijah battles to keep it afloat and maintain a standard of excellence. Khadijah has a strong, caring personality and is considered the "mother hen" of her group of friends. She was briefly engaged to a childhood friend, Terrence "Scooter" Williams, in 1995.
