He is the son of Willie Tyler of Willie and Lester fan on the series Laugh In.

He was first seen on Married with Children as an extra in an episode that featured Tiffany Amber Thessian of 90210.

Cory was a cast member on the series Kids Incorporated during the 1989 season.

After Kids Inc. He joined the cast of A Different World and would be remember by many as the son of Colonel Taylor Terrance Taylor. From 1989 to 1992, he played Terrance, a young man that didn't know what he wanted to do in life. He was the Colonel's son and his father did everything to get him set on the right course.

Terrance showed his ignorance to the AIDS disease in the episode with Tisha Campbell on the AIDS special episode of the show dedicated to the memory of former Fame dancer Darryel Tibble. Terrance would eventually get on the right track and became interested in the Muslim faith. He was also a dance major.

In 1992 became the first African American to be a semi-regular cast member on Beverly Hills 90210.

He played Herbert Little, Steve's Freshman buddy and was the one that broke into the school computer to change Steve's grades. His character was the shows way of intergrating the cast, but the writers didn't think likewise and Herbert disappeared and was never blamed for Steve's grade changes.

He would later resurface on Sister, Sister as Elliot the school nerd that took Tia to the school dance and later would develop feelings for Tamera.

He was last seen on Nightman as Buddy, a sax player that was almost lost his heart to a mobster leader.

He appears in the independent movies High Freakquency (2001) and Ain't That Big (2002).
