Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 15, 1975 to Mexican American parents. She graduated Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science degree. Longoria also started modeling and won the title of "Miss Corpus Christi, USA" in 1998.

She entered a talent contest in Los Angeles where she was spotted and signed by a theatrical agent. Her first television role came in 2000, guest starring in an episode of Beverly Hills 90210. After another guest appearance in General Hospital, Longoria got her big break playing psychotic Isabella Braña Williams in the popular soap opera The Young and the Restless. She stayed on there from 2001-2003. Longoria then starred on the second season of the short-lived Dragnet revival.

Longoria got an even bigger role in 2004 when she started playing Gabrielle Solis in ABC's break-out hit Desperate Housewives. She was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2005. In 2006 Longoria starred in The Sentinel, her first
