Born August 14, 1926 in Vernon County, Missouri, Alice Ghostley is a television veteran, starring in many series including Designing Women and Bewitched, which were roles that she's most well-known for. Alice got her start in the entertainment business in the 1957 television musical Cinderella as one of the wicked step sisters. After Cinderella, Alice guest starred on several television programs, often situation comedies. She landed starring roles on Bewitched as Esmerelda, Mayberry R.F.D. as Cousin Alice and Designing Women as Bernice Clifton.

Aside from television roles, Alice appeared in many Broadway productions and films. In 1965 she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window. Her film credits include the award-winning films To Kill a Mockingbird, Grease and The Graduate.
