Jaslene Gonzalez is a Puerto Rican model who was the winner of America's Next Top Model, Cycle 8, after not being emotionally prepared for the previous cycle. Jaslene was born in Puerto Rico, but was raised in Illinois, in the Chicago-area. Before auditioning for America's Next Top Model, Jaslene did some small-time modeling work. She was also in an abusive relationship with her then boyfriend, which is why she was rejected for Cycle 7. In Cycle 8, Jaslene rose above the pack, and wowed the judges with her jaw-dropping pictures, and eventually won the competition. As part of the prize, she earned a contract with Elite Model Management, a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, and a six-page spread in Seventeen magazine. Since her win, she has appeared in many ad campaigns, most notably a billboard in Times Square for Lot 29, with a second billboard which came later, and also appeared on several covers and television commercials.
