Trivia

Received one Prime-Time Emmy Awards for "Best Supporting Actor" and one later for "Best Actor in the role of Alan Harper on "Two-And-A-Half Men."

Has two children, one from each marriage.

He was asked to try-out for the plum role of Chandler Bing on the iconic TV show "Friends." But at the time, he was appearing in a play in London, England. His reading was videotaped by a British casting agent but the audition tape failed to arrive in the United States before the network had made a final decision--with of course, the now household-name Matthew Perry.

Jon Cryer was offered the role of Chandler Bing. Cryer starred in sitcom "Partners" in which Jennifer Aniston had a cameo.

He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1983 and studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

He's often mistaken for Matthew Broderick. He personally even replaced Broderick on the stage in the role of Alan in "Torch Song Trilogy."

He was a child model.

He and his mother formed a company of mail-order home-cooked food in 1995.

He has a son, Charles Austin Cryer. And a daughter, Daisy.

In the 1990s, Cryer spent a lot of his time doing television. He seemed to do well with guest-spots, but when he tried to make it as a regular, most of his sitcoms failed until "Two-And-A-Half Men."
