| Birth Name: | Kathryn Marlene Kinney |
| Date Of Birth: | November 03, 1954 |
| Country Of Birth: | USA |
| Birth Place: | Stevens Point, Wisconsin |

On November the third, in the year 1954, Kathy Kinney was born, the only child of Marian and Harold Kinney. Kathy was born and raised in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Around the time Kathy reached her 15th year her father became ill and died of emphysema (couldn’t breathe; lung problem). At the age of 23, in 1976, Kathy moved to New York City. During the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, Kathy worked as a secretary WCBS-TV and performed improvisational comedy at local comedy clubs. Through her improv work, Kathy came to the attention of Bill Sherwood, who cast her in his 1986 movie Parting Glances. Shortly thereafter, Kathy Kinney moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career and appeared in several guest roles before landing a starring role in 1989 in the last season (1989-1990) of the Newhart comedy sitcom. At the end of that show’s run, Kathy spent another five years working as a guest star in tv, and with occasional appearances in the movies before landing her second starring role as Mimi Bobeck on The Drew Carey Show. The Drew Carey Show lasted nine seasons and ended in 2004. During that time, Kathy Kinney continued to both star on that show and make guest appearances on other tv shows, do some voice work, and appear in movies.
