Academy Award winner Cliff Robertson was born in La Jolla, California. After college, Robertson became a journalist before getting into the entertainment business.

Robertson made his debut on television, starring on Rod Brown of the Rocket Rangers as Rod Brown, and making numerous guest appearances on other series. Robertson's big screen debut came in 1955 when he landed a role in Picnic. Since then, Robertson has been noted for his performance on screen, appearing in PT 109, The Best Man, Charly, Three Days of the Condor, and, recently, the Spiderman trilogy of films. In 1968, Robertson won an Oscar for Best Actor for Charly.
