Alexis Argüello

Alexis Argüello was a famous boxing champion who was voted the #20 on a list of boxing's all-time hardest punchers. He later went on to become the mayor of his hometown following his retirement in the ring. On July 1, 2009, Alexis was found dead having been shot through the heart. At firs it was believed to have been a suicide, but now is being investigated as a possible murder. Alexis was 82-8 during his career, and was voted into the boxing hall of fame in 1992. In 2008 he was honored by being selected as Nicaragua's flag-bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
