Kelly Rutherford is the daughter of Ann Edwards and was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on November 6, 1968. Shortly after her birth, her parents divorced (in 1971) and Kelly started on a long journey of constantly changing dwellings, before she was able to somewhat settle in at Newport Beach, California. After she graduated from high school, she headed back east and studied acting at New York City’s HB Studios. While in NYC, she paid the bills by working in commercials and modeling. Eventually she returned to California to chase the acting dream in L.A.
Kelly has starred in numerous short and long-lived shows, including both prime-time and daytime soaps (early 1990s Generations and the seven season Melrose Place), horror (1996s roughly eight episode vampire series: Kindred: The Embrace ), legal/thriller/action shows (1995's legal show The Great Defender & 2003/4's Threat Matrix) and most recently starred in the military show E-Ring.
One of her earliest recurring roles was on the strange western with a science fiction twist The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr as Dixie Cousins opposite Bruce Campbell.
Kelly has also made appearances in such movies as 1994's Nick Nolte & Julia Roberts I Love Trouble, and the third Scream movie (as the character “Christine Hamilton”).
