Character’s background: Professor Hugo Strange first appeared in Detective Comics #36 (February, 1940) and he was one of the very first Batman's villains ever, before even the Joker. Hugo Strange was a psychiatrist and chemist determined to discover Batman's secret identity, and he was one of the few who figured it out. He tried to sell the secret to Batman's enemies, just like in this episode, but failed. |
