Mark Harmon

With an athletic father and an actress mother, it is no surprise Harmon played college football and has found success as one of TV's hunkiest actors. While most of his rolls have relied on little more than good looks, Harmon was impressive as the suave doctor on "St. Elsewhere" who contracted AIDS. Mark was born on September 1951 and he now plays the roll of special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and lives in Los Angeles
Mark's first TV series was "Sam," a 1978 CBS effort in which he co-starred with a dog. Then he starred on 240 Robert", a pale imitation of NBC oldie, "Emergency." He's the youngest of the trio produced by Michigan football great, old 98, Tom Harmon, and one-time movie starlet Elyse Knox. Mark's big sisters are Kris (Mrs. Rick) Nelson and model Kelly Harmon. Kris got Mark into acting, a bit in father-in-law Ozzie Nelson's last TV series, "Ozzie's Girls." Harmon quarterbacked UCLA 1972-73, went into acting full-time after graduation. He has appeared in TV movies, ("Little Mo" and "Getting Married,"), mini-series ("Centennial") and has done some theater features ("Comes a Horseman" and "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure").
