A Bronx, New York native, Trina's classical pianist mother met her father, a Haitian political revolutionary, in Canada, where he was living in exile.
Trina studied at Howard University for two years, where she began to seriously pursue her dreams of acting.
She landed her first acting job in "Chelsea Walls" with the Naked Angel Theater Group in New York City. She later appeared in an off-Broadway, hip-hop musical based on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," called "Club Twelve."
She answered an open cast call and won a lead role in the Quincy Jones television pilot, "Diva." She also got a role as Angela on the ABC show "Boy Meets World". She moved to Los Angeles from New York to begin what is proving to be a successful career.
Trina has guest-starred on several television shows, including "Picket Fences," "Family Matters," "Martin," "Parenthood" and "The Sinbad Show."
Her film credits include "The Birdcage," with Robin Williams, and the action thriller, "Daylight," with Sylvester Stallone
