Does this face look familiar? Well, it should, especially if you’re a comedy fan. If you’re familiar with Carlos Alazraqui’s face, then you should also know his voice. He is one of the most notable voice actors in the nation. Before he even got into acting, and voicing some of the most famous characters on TV, Alazraqui was busy attending California State University at Sacramento. In 1986, he received a degree in recreation administration. About 10 years later, he started dabbling in the voice industry, and ever since his TV voice debut (“The Mask”), Alazraqui’s career is one voice artists should be jealous of. His first major TV voice role was as Rocko in Nickelodeon’s “Rocko’s Modern Life.” He went on to voice Mr. Weed on “Family Guy,” Lube and Winslow on “Cat/Dog,” “Nestor in “Happy Feet” and “Happy Feet Two,” Felipe ‘the Phillips Screwdriver’ in “Handy Manny” and Mr. Crocker in “The Fairly OddParents.” He’s also dabbled in commercials, and is widely popular for bringing the Taco Bell Chihuahua (“Yo quiero Taco Bell”) to life in the fast-food chain’s 1997-2001 advertisement. Voiceover isn’t Alazraqui’s only success, as he’s quite the stand-up comic and comedy actor. He is constantly recognized for portraying Deputy James Garcia in Comedy Central’s “Reno 911!” Fans can also catch him voicing El Chupacabra in Disney’s 2013 project “Planes.” When he isn’t acting or bringing cartoon characters to life, Alazraqui is busy skydiving and playing tennis.
