Ingo was born in West Germany and lived in Germany until his parents moved to Australia when he was ten. In 1984 his parents took up farming in Queensland where Ingo attended high school.
Ingo moved to Sydney after graduating and worked as a model. He starred in the series Paradise Beach for two years. In 1994 Ingo moved to Los Angeles.
Ingo was a West German ski champion at the age of eight and while he was living in Australia he was a beach volleyball player.
Ingo joined the cast of General Hospital in 1996 and won a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1997 for Hottest Male Star.
Ingo spends his spare time in Southern California where he enjoys surfing.
