Tamara was born on April 18, 1971in Evanston, Illinois. Tamara trained as a massage therapist before deciding to become an actress.

She does not eat any dairy products. She was a psychology major at colege and took a summer course in at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She enjoys writing in her free time. She supports the charities the Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind and Planned Parenthood.

Tamara is best known for the role of Carly on General Hospital who she first starting playing in 2001. She left the role in 2005 and appeared as the female lead in the independent film Little Chenier. Tamara has also appeared as Rose in several episodes of the ABC sitcom Freddie.
