Ava was involved with Steve, who she refers to as Patch, when he disappearaned and was presumned dead in Salem. The two had planned to marry but Steve left her at the altar when he had flashes of Kayla and their wedding day. Steve was then nabbed by two guys before he was able to explain himself to Ava. Ava had a mental breakdown over Steve leaving her that was prolonged by the fact that Ava's doctor was giving her pills that hurt her more then they helped. Ava has since moved on and formed a romantic relationship with John Black and a friendship with Nicole Walker. Ava was to stand trail for her setting up the plane crash but ended up jumping bail and leaving Salem.
