Teri Hatcher

This talented and beautiful actress, dancer and author was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964 in Sunnyvale, California. Her father Owen Hatcher was a nuclear physicist and her mother Esther Hatcher was a computer programmer. She grew up in the San Francisco area, and attended Freemont High School where she was the captain of her high school's dance team, The Featherettes. Teri graduated from Freemont High in 1982. She moved on to study acting at the American Conservatory Theatre during her persuit of a undergraduate degree in mathematics and engineering at the De Anza College in Cupertino, California. Teri was planning on furthering her education by transferring to California Polytechnic Institute when she accompanied a friend to an audition, for morale support, and ended up winning the role of Amy The Mermaid in The Love Boat.

In 1984 she landed a position on the famous Gold Rush Cheerleader Squad, which was the professional cheerleader squad for the San Francisco 49'ers. Then in 1989 she got her first big feature film role, The Big Picture From 1993-1997, she got the coveted role of Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman which sky-rocketed her fame on and off-line. Here she was able to showcase her acting and even singing talents. This also led to her being the most downloaded image on America Online in the mid-90's with a picture of her wrapped in nothing but a Superman cape.

After Lois & Clark ended, Teri was a "Bond Girl" in the 1997 007 Film, Tomorrow Never Dies. After which she only made guest appearances in a sitcom here and there, and a some TV Movies, overall, she kept a relatively low profile. During this time, Teri did many Radio Shack commercials with sportscaster Huey Long, which gave her time to devote to raising her daughter, Emerson Rose.

From March 2, 1999 to September 4, 1999 she toured with Cabaret and played the part of Sally Bowles. And then came the big one, Desperate Housewives in 2004. This once again, and even more so, made Teri Hatcher a household name. As her portrayal of Susan Mayer, she was nominated and won several awards:

- In 2005 she won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy

- In 2006 She was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy

Teri was married and divorced twice. Her first marriage in 1988 ended after only 10 months to Marcus Leithold. Then in 1994 she married Jon Tenney which lasted almost 9 years before they divorced siting irreconcilable differences. Their union gave them one daughter, Emerson Rose, February 28, 2003.

On May 2, 2006, Teri's first book, an inspirational biography, Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies Of Life will be released. As well as a audio version of the book narrated by Teri Hatcher. The book will talk about struggles, through bad times and good.
