On September 30, 1971, Jennifer Mary Butala (a.k.a Jenna Elfman) was born in Los Angeles California. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jenna graduated from Los Angeles High School for the Arts, in 1989. Prior to that graduation, though, Jenna spent many years studying to be a Ballerina (since age six). Unfortunately, injuries required Jenna to move over to acting. Jenna’s acting career began in commercials, and first couple of roles involved Jenna dancing in the background (including an uncredited appearance on Murder She Wrote in 1992. Her first credited role appears to be a 1993 tv movie called Double Deception that also included her future husband Bodhi Elfman in a supporting role (“Burglar #1"). In 1995, Jenna began appearing, credited, on several television shows, including Rosanne. In 1996, Jenna guest starred in a couple more tv shows before landing a starring role in the ten-episode ABC sitcom Townies. The next year, Jenna returned to ABC as a star in Dharma & Greg. That series lasted until 2002 (five seasons), and during those years, Jenna started appearing in feature films (which includes 1998's Krippendorf's Tribe, 1999's Edtv, and 2000's Keeping the Faith). Currently, Jenna can be seen in the CBS series Courting Alex, wherein Jenna seems to be playing the Greg character from Dharma & Greg (an overworked lawyer).
On February 18, 1995, Jennifer Mary Butala married actor Bodhi Elfman (they met while auditioning for a Sprite commercial in 1991).
