He was awarded the 1996 Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Actor in a Principal Role in a Play for "The Killer and the Comic" at the Mary-Arcchie Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois. He was nominated for a 2002 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Supporting Role in a Play for "High Life" at the Victory Gardens Theater and Shattered Globe Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. A member of Chicago's European Repertory Company, he starred in such plays as "Ivanov" and "Princess Turandot".
