David William Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 to parents Amram Duchovny and Meg Miller. He studied at The Collegiate School For Boys in Manhattan, graduated from Princeton University, and later earned his Master's degree from Yale in English Literature.
His early acting experiences include television commercials and a stint on the show Twin Peaks
as a transvestite DEA agent. However, it is his role as Special Agent Fox Mulder on the show The X-Files
that earned him fame and a huge fan base. He has also hosted Saturday Night Live
on two occasions, parodied his X-Files role by doing a guest voice on The Simpsons
, and appeared as a guest star on The Larry Sanders Show
and on Sex and the City
. His film career, while perhaps not as notable, has been solid and steady.
Duchovny has been married to actress Téa Leoni
since1997. Together they have two children: daughter Madelaine West Duchovny, and son Kyd Miller Duchovny. They currently make their home in Malibu, California where Duchovny enjoys keeping fit through activities such as yoga, boxing, and swimming.
