At age 4, Stan Kirsch did a tv commercial as a Campbell's Soup Kid. Although he had the opportunity to do more commercials, his parents preferred that he get an education and didn't pursue his potential as a child actor. As a high school student, Stan became interested in politics, attended political activities and worked for local politicians.
While attending Duke University, Stan renewed his interest in acting and after graduating magna cum laude from Duke with a degree in Political Science, Stan decided to give acting another chance. He landed roles on soaps like
General Hospital and was Axl in every episode of
Riders in the Sky, a children's show featuring the country band of the same name. After that, Stan landed the role as Richie Ryan on
Highlander: The Series. When his association with the series ended, Stan obtained the diverse roles of an abusive husband on
Family Law, a wistful would-be suitor on
Love Boat: The Next Wave, a Washington newspaper reporter on
First Monday and a military lawyer on
JAG.
Currently, Stan is an acting teacher and coach at a major acting school in Los Angeles. In addition, he plans to continue acting and wants to continue directing. He made his directorial debut in 2004 with the short film
Straight Eye: The Movie, a spoof of the BRAVO series
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Straight Eye: The Movie won
Best Comedy Short at the 2004 Griffon International Film Festival.
