Nikki Hornsby inherited the musical talent from grandfather from Atlanta GA USA whose work for Columbia records recognized by Grammy Museum in a year long display in Los Angeles CA USA. Dan Hornsby was also songwriter, singer with two octave voice, musician, producer engineer, radio man, recording artist of POP and novelty music of his day like "Take me out to the Ballgame", "On Mobile Bay" "Ark Traveler" plus many more, being also a A&R talent scout discovering talent like Bessie Smith and more. Nikki Hornsby's grandfather died before Nikki could meet him but she inherited the gifts. Her Father a former US Marine Pilot was in the US Government GS-15 position. Nikki Hornsby's mother was a teacher with a Masters degree in English Lit. & supporter co writing bills for US congress law, & doing political functions for her husband's career. Both Nikki's parents died in their 50s before Nikki went into recording her music. Nikki worked full time in making music as a live club performer and turned down recording sponsorship for many years until she learned more about the business of making recordings. She as a single, duo, trio, and band leader like her Grandfather worked for the audiences and her constant work supported her purchases of a house in Los Angeles County, rental income, Mercedes, boat, RV etc. Nikki Hornsby's older brother who went to Frank Llyod Wright School of Archetecture died in his 50s after getting a heart transplant but the CD "Reaching Out" was made to help raised money for his recovery but he died before it's release. Her other brother is a successful business owner with his sons.
Nikki Hornsby continues her work in the music recoding industry with many hundreds of live tested songs. Projects are continuing even after her tragic airplane & car accidents and other health issues that happened. She does not quit and her writing and helping others is her life.
Nikki Hornsby has a career giving advice from personal experience to all ages about the true work of the music recording industry. Nikki Hornsby has contributed times to perform benefits to Toys for Tots and the Handicapped around the world. She even gave time from her marketing schedules to give music instructions on the US Military base community center for our troops & their families in Germany. She did this while traveling to other countries doing radio & TV appearances performing Nikki Hornsby music until returning to LA for Grammy week when the airplane accident inflight physically damaged her neck, arm & shoulder. Prior to that the city in Germany that hosted the World Cup Soccer International games asked Nikki Hornsby to be a VIP Host which she did for the 6 games held in Kaiserslautern as CNN TV broadcast her song "This IS America" when USA warmed up for the only game in that event that day they won. Nikki Hornsby was called the "Power Frau" in German newspapers but took this humbly. Many she met on the streets in Europe heard her four original releases from years prior when her work won her awards through European radio stations offline.
In the years she was in Europe, Nikki went to Spain where one of her songs held the #1 position years before and she played live with only her guitar. In gratitude for her once success there she played live on many radio shows & TV broadcasting one of her songs she wrote in Spanish along with her recorded material. One radio show on the CZ boarder was for three hours where she played only originals with her guitar. Not one song was repeated. That was a surprise to the listeners as well as the station programmer who was impressed with her variety of Pop, folk, country, jazzy blues, to novelty & a capella, Irish, German and Spanish originals.
