Robin Tunney

Robin Tunney is a successful TV and movie actress who has turned most of her characters into fan favorites. As a little girl, Tunney worked hard to break into show business, but like everyone knows, it doesn’t come easy. She even tried commercials. Tunney expanded her acting horizons with an education at the Chicago Academy for the Arts and the Second City Players Workshop. In her native town of Chicago, Tunney starred in many stage performances. Then, in the early 1990s, she took the plunge and moved to Hollywood. In no time, she scored a variety of gigs on the small and big screen. Her early works include “Encino Man,” “Class of ‘96,” “Cutters” and the TV movie “J.F.K.: Reckless Youth.” Then, in 1995 she took on a role - one that still gets her recognized today - as Deb in the 1995 movie “Empire Records.” Soon after, she starred as Sarah Bailey in the 1996 witchy movie “The Craft.” She quickly made a name for herself in movies, but it was in 2005 she stood out on TV. Tunney took on the role of Veronica Donovan in the hit “Prison Break.” Ever since then, TV has become her world. She is now known as CBI Agent Teresa Lisbon, alongside Simon Baker, on the CBS hit drama “The Mentalist.” Her accomplished work hasn’t gone unnoticed like when she took home Best Actress-Cuppa Volpe at the 1997 Venice Film Festival for “Niagara, Niagara.” Acting isn’t the only art Tunney is brilliant at. She also has a knack for poker. She’s played in several celebrity competitions including Bravo’s “Celebrity Poker Showdown.” Unfortunately, she came in second to Jason Alexander. Tunney was once married to producer/director Bob Gosse for 9 years; she was engaged to Australian writer/director Andrew Dominik in 2010; and in 2012 she became engaged to interior designer Nicky Marmet.
