Don Knotts was a comedic actor who was known in several comedy series, such as The Andy Griffith Show, where he played Barney Fife, and in Three's A Company. He worked alongisde with Tim Conway with many comedy films for children. Don Knotts was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on July 21, 1924. He joined the army when he became 19, and fought in World War II. He also starred in a soap opera, known as Search For Tomorrow for a few years, and soon turned to other film comedies during the 60's. During the 70's, he starred in a Disney movie known as The Apple Dumpling Gang , and later in the sequel, alongside Tim Conway. Don Knotts died in Los Angeles, California on February 24, 2006 after fighting lung cancer.
