Manny Perez born May 5, 1969, is a critically acclaimed Dominican actor, writer, and producer working out of Hollywood and New York. His career started in the early 90’s with movies like ’Crooklyn’(1994) and ’Courage Under Fire’(1996). He’s stayed busy and accumulated credits all over television. In 2002 he came out with ’Washington Heights’, in addition to the writing and producing, it earned him a Best Actor award at the International Film Festival in Italy. In 2008 he won an Alma Award for his performance in ’Bella’(2006). He hit the festivals hard again in 2009, after writing, producing, and starring in ’La Soga’. It was the first Dominican film to ever screen at The Toronto International Film Festival, and closed to a standing ovation. While working for his breakout role to come along, he’s been collecting humanitarian awards in both the U.S.A and the Dominican Republic for his work after Hurricane Noel.
