Phill Lewis

Kids know him for starring as Mr. Moseby in Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “The Suite Life on Deck.” Well, actor Phill lewis didn’t get his start at Disney. In 1968, he was born in Uganda, during his parents’ Peace Corps tour. His father also once held the important role of U.S. Ambassador to South Africa under former President Bill Clinton. At a young age, Lewis got a taste of the acting biz. At the age of 11, he started acting and even appeared on stage in “Storyville” at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. His successes at a young age kept growing. While attending high school at Beverly Hills High, he was voted best actor in his class, he received a National Arts Award and at 18 he was name a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He quickly decided to make his entertainment dreams come true. In the beginning, he gave himself six months to find an agent. If it didn’t work out, then he told himself he could always enroll at UCLA. It took him only one month to find an agent, and immediately following he scored a part in an episode of “Hill Street Blues.” Most probably remember him from his first major role as Teech Gibson on the short-lived sitcom “Teech.” After that, he starred here and there on TV shows including “Married with Children,” “The Wayans Bros.,” “Lizzie McGuire,” “Friends,” “Scrubs” and “Yes, Dear.” Some of his more current projects are “ “The Big C,” “Raising Hope” and providing the voice for DJay on Cartoon Network’s “Total Drama.” Things haven’t always been on the upside for Lewis, as in 1993 he was charged with vehicular manslaughter for hitting and killing a 21-year-old woman while driving drunk. He was sentenced to one year in prison. He still acts today. Lewis has three brothers and is father to two daughters.
