Born Reggie Noble on April 17, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey. Redman's debut album Whut? Thee Album broke into the US Top 50, acheived gold status in the United States. In 1993, The Source named Redman Rap Artist of the Year.
Redman would come out with three more albums in the remainder of the decade, Dare Iz a Darkside, Muddy Waters and Doc's Da Name 2000. He also collaborated with Keith Murray and producer Erick Sermon (EPMD) for the 1998 album El Nino and with labelmate Method Man for the 1999 album Blackout. Redman has collaborated with artists of different genres including Snoop Dogg, The Offspring, Eminem, Jodeci and Christina Aguilera.
In 2001, Redman teamed up with Method Man for the comedy How High. They later had their own television show, Method & Red, on Fox but was cancelled after poor ratings. Redman would appear with Method Man and other Def Jam rappers in the video game Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam: Fight for NY.
Redman's sixth studio album, Red Gone Wild, is to be release in November.
