Bio: A long time ago Sinestro was a prominent Green Lantern, but once it became clear that he was unfit to fulfill his entrusted task, the Guardians of the Universe deprived him of his power. However, he found another source of power in the form of a yellow Power Ring and went on to find and kill all the Green Lanterns. His ring gave him the same abilities as those of the Green Lantern’s rings, which consisted of doing almost anything he can imagine, including flying and creating objects made of energy. Sinestro’s pursuit led him to Earth while he was chasing Abin Sur down to collect his Power Ring. However, just moments before dying, Abin Sur sent his ring off to find a suitable replacement. In the wreckage of Abin Sur’s spaceship, Sinestro found and attacked Superman, thinking he was hiding the Ring. He eventually found it in the possession of Kyle Rayner. They matched wits but Sinestro had the upper hand, being the more experienced combatant. Superman showed up just in time to rescue Rayner, whose Ring had run out of power. Superman had been sent by the Guardians’ request and gave Rayner his Power Ring’s battery. Sinestro and Rayner, now with a fully recharged Power Ring, clashed once again, but now Sinestro was defeated by Rayner’s skillful talents. Superman took Sinestro’s ring and crushed it to dust.
