Another Brit, like Sharron, Richard is the most animated of the three. We find out in "Autokill" that he was born in 1938 in Salisbury, Wiltshire. He has the intelligence and skills which we expect from a Champion but he is also quite sly, a devious cleverness which is much more subtle than the other two. Often, Richard is the one who will face death with a smile and a witty remark.

Although Richard is the most lighthearted and funny of the three, he is extremely tough and can be very hard to his enemies. He does not hesitate in using force or deceiving his foes, lulling them into a false sense of security while quietly working out his plans in his mind, ready to strike when the time is right. That time is usually when his companions join him, combining as a team to close a case. The highlights of many episodes are the deadpan one-liners that he delivers either as an off-the-cuff remark to a friend or said purposely to annoy an enemy. He's a smart dresser and is a Roger Moore type, whom you believe wears the best available clothes and eats from the finest restaurants. His style is British and understated.
