On August 2, 1981 in Buffalo, NY, Chad Michael Murray was born. At age 4, he performed skits, and sang songs for his family, including 3 brothers, a half brother, and a sister. His mother left home when he was only 10 years old. When he got a football injury at age 15, the nurse encouraged him to enter modeling. At age 17, he won a modeling scholarship. During a modeling convention in Orlando, FL, he met an agent from Los Angeles who encouraged him to peruse an acting career after high school. He modeled for sketchers, Tommy Hilfiger and Gucci, while looking for an acting job. He soon appeared in the TV hit series
Gilmore Girls where he played the cocky Tristan DuGrey. Chad has also guest starred on
Dawson's Creek,
CSI, and MTV's
Undressed.
In 2003 he landed the role of Lucas Scott on the hit WB (now CW) series
One Tree Hill where he can currently be seen. He has also appeared in movies such as
Freaky Friday,
A Cinderella Story, and
House of Wax. In 2005, he married
One Tree Hill co-star
Sophia Bush, but only after 5 months of marriage the couple separated.
