Paula Marie Marshall was born June 12th 1969 in Rockville Maryland. In 1982, Paula graduated from Robert E. Peary High School of Rockville. Eight years later, Paula began to appear on television, first with an appearance on the TV series
True Blue (specifically the 1990
Hickory, Dickory, Dock episode). While she had not acquired her “show killer” nickname, this particular series lasted just thirteen episodes. She next appeared in one episode of the 20 episode NBC
Mancuso, FBI. That same year Paula starred in her first starring role on
The Flash, as Iris West.
The Flash was a very expensive comic-book style series that lasted just one season on CBS.
After that series failed, Paula appeared in 1 episode each on the series
Superboy (1991), and
Grapevine (1992), before picking up a brief recurring role on the series
Life Goes On (1992, appeared as Jill Gordon in three episodes). Between those two 1 episode gigs and the three episode gig, Paula appeared in the movie
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth.
In 1994, Paula picked up her second starring series, playing Shelly on the very short lived FOX comedy
Wild Oats, which lasted just four episodes (all aired in September). In 1997, Paula starred in her third series, this time in a comedy on NBC with Jason Bateman called
Chicago Sons. This spring 1997 series managed to last 10 episodes before being pulled (several more episodes were killed off in the summer). After
Chicago Sons was cancelled, Paula appeared in seven episodes of
Spin City in that series’ second season. In 1998, Paula immediately returned to a starring role on television, starring her fourth series, this one the ABC series
Cupid with Jeremy Piven. This series lasted 14 episodes before being cancelled. In 1999, Paula starred in her fifth series, this time in the David E. Kelley private investigator creation called
Snoops, which lasted ten episodes. In 2000, Paula guest starred as porn-actress Jenny on
Sports Night. Then in 2000, she found another starring role, her sixth. This time she starred on the Steven Weber starring show titled both “Cursed” and when ratings weren’t great, “The Weber Show” (she played “Katie”). Then 2002's
Hidden Hills (seventh starring series) and then a 2005 guest starring stint on
Veronica Mars, and finally starring as Dr. Regina Barnes on the
Out of Practice (which was briefly bumped for
Courting Alex, and then moved to Wednesday (March 22, 2006), before finally failing to be renewed for a second season).
