Scott Richard Wolf was born on June 4, 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents are Steven Wolf and Susan Enowitch. He grew up in West Orange, New Jersey, moved to Washington D.C. to attend George Washington University, where he earned his B.A. degree in finance and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.
A family friend urged him to try acting, so Wolf studied acting at New York's HB Studio and then at Playhouse West in California. Wolf first did television commercials and then some bit parts, and eventually guest-starring roles on shows such as
Saved By the Bell and
The Commish. Wolf finally gained fame in 1994 when he was cast as Bailey Salinger on
Party of Five. His first major film role was a supporting part in
Double Dragon (1994). Most recently he starred in the drama,
The Nine.
Wolf was once engaged to actress
Alyssa Milano, though they never tied the knot. He also had a live-in romantic relationship with
Paula Devicq for a time. He married
Kelley Limp, from
Real World: New Orleans, in 2004.
