Della is Perry Mason's stridently faithful assistant and confidant in his Los Angeles Law Practice. Della is a single, career-oriented woman. She lives in a nicely furnished, comfortable apartment near downtown Los Angeles so she is never too far from the office.
She rarely gets involved in the sordid details of one of Perry's cases, but is occasionally called upon to perform a surveillance task or some subtle subtrefuge to gather information, but nothing terribly dangerous. She excels at being able to provide Perry with citations of relevant precedent cases astonishing quickly related to some obscure point in the law that Perry is pursuing. Della has dinner with Perry frequently when they are working late. There is considerably innuendo about a romantic relationship with her boss, but any specific details are left to the viewer's imagination. |
