James Avery was born on the date of November 27, 1948 in Atlantic City, New Jersey is an actor of both live action and animation. One of his best known roles is Judge Phillip Banks, Will Smith's uncle in the show Fresh Prince of Bel-air. Shortly after highschool, James joined the United States Navy. He also served in the vietnom war from '68 to '69. He moved to Sen Diego after the military life where he began to write scripts and poetry. He got an emey from doing this. After getting the emey, James got a scolarship to The University of California, San Diego. Besides playing many characters in sitcoms, he played many cartoon characters, his biggest known animated role is in the '87 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show as their greatest enemy, The Shredder. The woman Avery married in 1988, Barbra is the dean of Loyola Marymount University.
James Avery loved playing "The Shredder" on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987), that he tried out for the role of Shredder on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003). But sadly, he didn't get the part.
