Gunn lectures on fashion, design and Parsons' influential role America. Such magazines as Time, Newsweek, Martha Stewart Living, Elle Magazine and Women’s Wear Daily have interviewed him on this subject. He has also appeared on many television networks. Gunn has received critical acclaim for his role on Project Runway.
