Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965 to Steven and Barbara Parker in Nelsonville, Ohio. Her parents divorced early on in her child hood, and she grew up with her mother (and step-father). As a girl, Sarah was trained in singing and practiced ballet, which led her to be casted in the Broadway production of The Innocents, her first acting role. She also starred in the television series, Square Pegs, which gained her numerous other acting gigs, and it wasn't until the '90s when Sarah's career really took off. In 1997, she married actor Matthew Broderick and she was casted in the lead role of the HBO show, Sex in the City, which was an instant success. Sarah eventually became a producer of the show and earned herself an Emmy Award. She also received a Golden Globe for her performance in The Family Stone. In 2002, she gave birth to her first child, James Wilkie Broderick. Besides acting, Sarah has been an influential role in the fashion industry, appearing in ads for Garnier and Gap
