Trey Parker (1)

General Information (Trey Parker (1))

Mostly Credited As: Trey Parker (1)
Birth Name: Randolph Severn Parker III
Date Of Birth: October 19, 1969
Country Of Birth: USA
Birth Place: Conifer, Colorado
Height: 6' 1"

Trey Parker was born Randolph Severn Parker III on October 19, 1969 in the town of Conifer, Colorado. His parents, Randy (a geologist) and Sharon (an insurance broker), are the basis for South Park characters Randy and Sharon Marsh, and his older sister, Shelley, became the model for Shelley Marsh, just as he based the character of Stan on himself. Trey Parker went to West Jefferson Junior High School and later graduated from Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado in 1988. Showing his comic gift at a young age, he was even voted class clown. He first attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, but later transferred to the University of Colorado, where he took courses in music, Japanese, and film, though he never graduated because he missed too many classes. While there, he met Matt Stone, and made several animated shorts. He and Stone moved to Los Angeles to break into the film industry, and together created the short animated film, The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Frosty, which became the basis for the show, South Park.

For his next feature film, Orgazmo (1997), Parker wrote, directed and starred in story about a wholesome Mormon man who becomes a famous adult film star. Around this time, the show South Park was picked up by Comedy Central, and a starring role in the film BASEketball soon followed. Parker and Stone then created the full-length animated musical film, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999), for which they were nominated for best song, "Blame Canada". Parker and Stone have also collaborated on the sitcom, That's My Bush, and the movie, Team America: World Police (2004).

Parker married Emma Sugiyama in January 2006, and currently resides in Bel Air, California.
