Lucille Frances Ryan, or as we know her as, Lucy Lawless, was born on March 28, 1968 in Auckland, New Zealand. Lucy's parents are Frank and Julie Ryan, making Lucy the 5th sibling out of 7children. Ever since Lucy was in High school, she has liked acting. Luce attended Auckland University and has studied a few foreign languages. She then left for Europe with her boyfriend to travel around Germany and Switzerland. They went back and landed a job with a mining company in Australia. In 1988, Lucy and Garth Lawless were married. They returned to New Zealand and had a daughter, Daisy.
Lucy has starred in a numerous of shows and movies, but her fame didn't come until she starred as Xena, in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Lucy's character Xena became so famous, that a spin off of Hercules was started, Xena: Warrior Princess.
Lucy married Robert G. Tapert, the executive producer of Xena, in 1998. Lucy and Robert has 2 kids together, Julius Robert Bay Tapert, born in 1999, making him Lucy's second child. Her third child, Judah Miro Tapert, was born in 2002.
Although she is heterosexual, Lucy Lawless has made couple of appearances at gay pride events such as the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
