Johnny Bonds

Johnny Bonds is a retired Homicide Detective from Houston, Texas. Johnny grew up in a small town in Kern County, TX. He started his career in Law Enforcement in 1967, and became the youngest Detective promoted to the Homicide Division at the age of 25. He spent 8yrs in the Homicide Division and has worked in other distinguished divisions such as Fugitive Detail, Internal Affairs, and SWAT.

Johnny's career case was the gruesome triple homicide of the Wanstrath family in 1979. After refusing to believe the crime was a murder-suicide, he wouldn't give up until it was solved. Johnny became knows as "The Cop Who Wouldn't Quit", and was immortalized in a book by the same name.

In 1988, Johnny attempted to take an early retirement, but after taking up odd jobs in construction he quickly realized that the only thing he's really good at is being a cop. So Johnny rejoined the force and began working for the Harris County District Attorney's office as an Investigator. That is where he met Kelly Siegler in 1989, when she was a fairly new Prosecutor. They worked closely together in the Special Crimes unit, where Johnny was Kelly's Primary Investigator.

Of Johnny's 41yrs in law enforcement, 36 involved working murder cases. He can easily say he's worked on over 1,000 murders and spoken to hundreds of killers.

Johnny Bonds' specialty is interrogations; it has often been said, "If Johnny Bonds can't get someone to talk, no one can."
