Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, and was born on February 10, 1974 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell but changed her name to avoid confusion with the Lost star of the same name. She made her film debut in 1998, and scored small roles in such films as Wet Hot American Summer, Catch Me If You Can, Seabiscuit, and the Spider-Man series. Banks first gained prominence for a memorable supporting role in the Judd Apatow comedy The 40-Year-Old Virgin in 2005. She made her mark on TV the next year with a recurring role as JD's love interest Dr. Kim Briggs on Scrubs. Elizabeth has been working steadily in both film and TV ever since, including titles like W, Zack & Miri Make A Porno, and Role Models. Her latest role is as Effie Trinket in the mega blockbuster Hunger Games films.
