Annette began her career at the age of 13 when she became one of the very first ever Mouseketeers on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in 1955 until 1959 and she became one of the most liked of all the Mouseketeers.
 
Annette became so popular on "The Mickey Mouse Club" that at the age of 16 she began a very successful singing career and became the very first ever female teenage rock 'n' roll idol star.
 
From 1959 to 1961 she had 9 different songs on the Billboard singles charts some under the name of Annette Funicello and some listed under just Annette which her biggest selling record "Tall Paul" that peaked at #7 in 1959.
 
She had 3 albums on the Billboard charts from 1960 to 1963 in "Annette Sings Anka" that peaked at #21, "Hawaiiannette" that peaked at #38 and "Annette's Beach Party" that peaked at #39.
 
Besides her singing career and her years as a Mouseketeer she is also known for all the Beach movies she was in most of them were with singer and teenage idol "Frankie Avalon".
