He is the younger brother of John, who died from an overdose of drugs in 1982, but he also has a sister and a younger brother. They are not in show business. Jim followed his brother, John through Second City and Saturday Night Live. He is the third child of Albanian immigrants. He attended DuPage College and Southern Illinois University, where he graduated woth a degree in speech and theatre arts. Soon after, he became a member of the famed Second CIty improvisational comedy troupe, from 1978-80. He was also on Saturday Night Live for two seasons from 1983-85.
Now, he is on a successful hit TV comedy for ABC called "According To Jim." which finished their seventh season and got renewed for an eighth season. Besides TV he has done many films like the K-9 series, stared on Broadway, and has a band called "The Sacred Hearts" and they are the house band for the House of Blues venues around the states.
He has been doing films for Disney, and the lastest was "Snow Buddies" and he does the voice of the St. Bernard dog Bernie. He did a new movie in 2007, for Disney called "Underdog," based on the animation cartoon. His band, The Sacred Hearts were together since 1997, and has three CD's out---36-22-36, Have Love Will Travel with Dan Aykroyd, and the soundtrack from the show. He has been married to his wife, Jenny, for about ten years and they have two children, daughter, Jamison and son Jared. He also has another son, Robert, from his first marriage.
