Born Beverley Ogg in Ottumwa, Iowa, Beverley Owen developed an interest in acting while in high school. Throughout high school and college, she appeared in theatre productions and on radio. After graduating from the University of Michigan, she moved to New York to pursue her career. She performed secretarial duties for Ed Sullivan, CBS and the Captain Kangeroo Show. In 1961, she landed a role in the long-running soap As the World Turns. She did other small roles until she was cast as Marilyn Munster on The Munsters in 1964. She is not always recognized as the original Marilyn because she wore a blonde wig in the show. She left the show after only 13 episodes to marry actor/writer/director Jon Stone. The marriage produced 2 daughters and ended in divorce. Beverley received her Master's Degree in Early American History in 1989.
