Mitch Rouse most recently appeared in the cult hit series, Strangers With Candy, which he created and co-wrote with Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert. He also starred in the comedy series The Secret Lives of Men.

He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and raised in Oak Ridge and later attended the University of Tennessee and soon developed an interest in acting. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to study acting and, later, improvisation in Chicago. It was there that he first became involved with Second City and met Sedaris and Dinello. After performing in a number of Second City productions, Rouse moved to New York with the two. Together they put together the play Stiches and developed the sketch comedy series Exit 57, which ran for two seasons and received five CableAce nominations.

Mitch has also appeared on Home Improvement and Spin City, and co-starred in several television movies, including In The Company of Darkness and In The Shadow of A Killer. His feature film work includes Austin Powers 2, The Truth About Cats and Dogs and Rudy. He has also written, directed and starred in the independent film McClintock's Peach. Most recently he sold his screenplay Employee of the Month, to which he is attached to direct and co-star.
