He is married to model Jill Goodacre.
 
His mentor in the business was the great Frank Sinatra. Connick is often refered to as "The New Frank Sinatra." Sinatra himself simply refered to Connick as "The Kid."

After Matthew Perry turned down a very brief bit part as in "Independence Day," the role was given to Connick.
 
His big breakthrough was doing the score for the 1989 romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally..."
 
He personally composed sang several songs for Rob Reiner's "When Harry Met Sally..." soundtrack for which went multi-platinum. And buy bringing back swing and big band music in the tradition of Sinatra, he has earned one gold, four platinum and three multi-platinum albums, plus two Grammies. And two Emmys.
