Scarlett Johansson is natural blond New Yorker who started her acting career in theaters when she was only eight. Scarlett wasn't publicly noticed in films until her role in 1998’s The Horse Whisperer, where she played a troubled teenager who lost her leg in a horse-riding accident. Her role landed her a Young Star Award for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Drama Film. In 2002, Scarlett graduated from high school, The Professional Children's School, in Manhattan, New York and applied for New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2003. Although she did not get in, she then decided to call off her intention to continue her study at Purchase University to fully pursue her acting career. Her true breakout role appeared in the same year when she landed a role in Sophia Coppola’s Lost in Translation. That role led to one of the two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress (the other one for Girl With a Pearl Earrings) at only age 19. Scarlett even voiced Mindy in the The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, which is based upon the popular kids TV show. In 2005, she co-star with Ewan McGregor on her first action adventure film in The Island. Today, Scarlett is considered one of the most promising actress of the 21st century.
Scarlett can be seen currently in the film, The Nanny Diaries, in theaters now.
