Born in Canada and raised in New York, Henry Corden started his career on radio and stage. In the 1940s, he went to Hollywood where he made his screen debut with a minor role in The Secret Lif of Walter Mitty which starred Danny Kaye. He continued to find work in films due to his talent for mimicry and his ability to play any nationality with any accent, but seemed to be limited to minor roles. He appeared in a number of films including Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion, The Asphalt Jungle and The Ten Commandments. His television roles were more numerous and varied from mysteries to dramas to westerns to comedies. He appeared on Gunsmoke, Dragnet, The Twilight Zone and I Dream of Jeannie (as Jeannie's father) just to name a few.

In the 1960s, he began doing voice work for cartoons, mostly for the famed Hanna-Barbera studio. He can be heard on classics like The Jetsons and Jonny Quest. After the death of Alan Reed in 1977, Corden took over as the voice of Fred Flintsone, a role he
